 What is the timeline recommended for counselling for my child?

Depending on the reason for the counselling, some
children may need longer therapy sessions than others.
Responding to therapy for circumstances such as trauma
abuse or the loss or a relative or friend differs with each
child. We strive to ensure that we make every effort In
providing the parents and support teams with a complete therapy program

Is there any financial assistance available for my child's counselling?

A few financial sources may be available to you. Your counsellor can advise you on some of the following options: - Check with your extended

Can counselling be reimbursed?

Yes it can. Please contact your insurance provider for further details. You can also claim
your fees on your income tax at the end of the year.

What do I tell my child
about counselling?

We recommend that you nave a short discussion with your child depending upon their age about what a counselling session may be like and what they may experience while visiting our office. We encourage you to discuss any questions or concerns you may have during your first session

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on they type of difficulty and the goals of the Client. Some issues only require 1-3 sessions, other deeper Issues may require more sessions. The number of sessions is also determined by the motivation of the Client and the adheration of continued work outside of counselling sessions

What will happen during the first session?

Many people going to counselling for the first
time can be anxiety ridden. We strive to make a
comfortable safe environment The first session is focused on discovering what the Clients goals are where the Client is currently at, and information that is relevant to obtaining the clients goal.

What is the cost of counselling?

We accept cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard, personal cheques
and e-transter.

All payments are due at the
beginning of each counselling session. Please note BC Medical Services (MSP) does not cover the cost of counselling. Check with your
insurance company to see if you have extended benefits with your plan to make sure that your counsellors credentials are covered through your plan
